Self Denial Week 5 - Martha’s Story and the Papua New Guinea Adult Literacy School

In week five of Self Denial, we visit Papua New Guinea and the Adult Literacy Program. Martha shares her story of missing out on an education at a young age, and how common this is for girls in her village. The Adult Literacy Program is teaching Martha and others in the community to read and write for the first time and is bringing great hope for the future, especially for the children.

The theme for the Self Denial Appeal 2023 is ‘A Gift from the Heart’. It encourages us to consider the blessings we have from God and how we can use those to bless other people.
