Self Denial Appeal Week 5 - Major Sem’s Story - Indonesia Earthquake Response

In Week 5 of Self Denial, we see how previous funds raised have been used to support those impacted by the tsunami and earthquake in Indonesia. Major Semsali witnessed the disaster and the recovery effort that followed. In central Sulawesi, there was widespread devastation with two million people affected. Over 100 corps were damaged, some completely destroyed. The Salvation Army served food, gave medications, opened a public kitchen and a corps, and built tents for people to stay in. In the years since, they have continued to support people, rebuild homes and get communities back on their feet.
