• Responding to floods in Romania

The Salvation Army teams were quick to respond to the needs of those impacted by devastating floods in Romania.

The teams are helping clear mud and debris from damaged houses and farms.

The Salvation Army in Romania is currently helping many of those impacted from the devastating floods that have inundated the nation following the recent torrential rainfall from Storm Boris. Many countries in Central and Eastern Europe have been affected by these catastrophic floods, with rising casualties and widespread destruction.

In Romania, hundreds of people from 22 cities have been evacuated, 5000 homes have been impacted, and many have lost everything.

Salvation Army teams served water and sandwiches to impacted locals.

The Salvation Army teams, led by Divisional Commander Major Ionuts Sandu and made up of officers and volunteers, have been distributing water, sandwiches and hot drinks to emergency teams and impacted community members in Slobozia Conachi, Galați County.

They have also begun to help with cleaning houses and farms that have been destroyed.
