• On the ground in Spain
Salvation Army teams in Spain have mobilised in Valencia to provide vital support to those impacted by the recent devastating floods. The focus is on the districts of Alfafar and Paiporta.
The teams are distributing food, medicine, clothing, tools, cleaning kits, drinkable water and compassionate support to help individuals and families in the immediate aftermath of the disaster.
Torrential rainfall causing deadly flash floods hit southern and eastern Spain in regions including the Costa del Sol in the south and Valencia in the east. Hundreds have lost their lives, many more are missing, and the widespread destruction in those areas is being assessed.
“We are incredibly grateful to every volunteer and Salvationist for their compassionate dedication and unwavering solidarity,” the team leaders expressed. “Your efforts make a meaningful difference in the lives of those impacted.
“To everyone affected, we want to tell you that you are not alone. We’ll be here, helping and accompanying you every step of the way, so you can slowly regain normality.
“Thank you to those who believe in solidarity and join us in making a difference. Together, we can overcome any adversity.”
