• Candle of peace in Zurich
The Salvation Army shield featured on the Grossmünster – a Romanesque-style Protestant church in the Old Town of Zürich, Switzerland, as the third advent candle was lit on Saturday.
The candle, part of the city’s ‘Advent wreath of Peace 2023’ campaign, emphasised solidarity.
The well-known Zurich light artist, Gerry Hofstetter, together with Grossmünster pastor Christoph Sigrist, are behind the campaign and invited The Salvation Army to participate.
Every Saturday from 2-23 December, between 5pm and 8pm, one of the four towers is being lit up like a giant red candle.
