Burnie Safe Place – walking beside people in a non-judgmental way

The Salvation Army’s 24/7 crisis and emergency accommodation service in Burnie, Tasmania, is an inclusive, diverse and non-judgmental place for anybody experiencing homelessness. “Some people can have misconceptions about those who are homeless because of a lack of knowledge. But once you start to have a look a bit deeper, it becomes quite clear that many of us are a couple of pay packets away from becoming homeless,” says Kent (Assertive Outreach Worker, Safe Space).
