• Budget assistance ‘not enough’

The decision by the Federal Government to leave JobSeeker and Youth Allowance at inadequate levels means hundreds of thousands of Australians will continue to seek support from The Salvation Army.

The 2023-24 Federal Budget was handed down last night (Tuesday 9 May). It was the second Budget of the Albanese Labor Government.

There was a slight increase in JobSeeker payments, but not enough to address the disadvantage in our community, according to The Salvation Army.
