• A global prayer for Palestine

Women from International Headquarters joined Salvationists from around the globe in praying for Palestine on the World Day of Prayer.

Salvationists joined Christians from 170 countries around the globe to pray for peace, justice and resolution of the conflict in Palestine on the World Day of Prayer last Friday 1 March. Women make up the majority of participants, but men are increasingly becoming part of the annual event.

Australian officer Major Vanessa Evans led the event in the Solomon Islands.

This year, a group of ecumenical Christian women of Palestine led the day. In response to the passage from Ephesians 4:1-7, they reflected on this theme from their context of suffering and conflict. Their hope is “to inspire other women around the world to bear with one another in love during troubled times.

“It is a blessing and an honour to draw near to our sisters, scattered around the world in many services, countries and contexts, united in prayer to our heavenly Father.”
